ST. JULIANS - 01/06/2008 - Charonite has sponsored the Malta Digital Arts Expo, held between 3rd and 6th July 2007 at the Hilton Malta Conference Centre, providing support for creative people in Malta.

Charonite launched a character illustration competition for its new virtual world, called Club King Lion, which aims to create an exciting new multiplayer game aimed for young people aged 7 to 12. The game takes place in a lush African savannah and jungle with adjacent desert and mountain areas. Players are represented by cartoon animal characters and interact with each other in the game. King Lion also offers a variety of puzzles and mini-games to keep everyone entertained.

Numerous submissions for the character competition were received with the winning entry receiving a prize of € 500 and a runner-up prize of € 50. The top three entries were selected by a judging panel of 12 people and a winning announcement made on 31 July 2008. The top three entries were as follows:
  • 1st Place - Mark Scicluna - Winner 500 Euro competition prize
  • 2nd Place - Alexia Chopping - Winner 50 Euro runner-up prize
  • 3rd Place - Luca Cauchi
